Our Batizado! (Graduation ceremony)

Get ready Toronto. Axe Capoeira will he having their batizado here soon.
A batizado is when a student who has deserved his/her belt plays with a Mestre and get their belt. my first one was in victoria, bc, and now im really happy we will have one here.

i have participated in my first capoeira batizado. it was AWESOME!
i was a bit sad because i didnt get my belt, but i guess im not ready yet.
apparantly we will be having ours here in toronto on may 26 so i guess i'll train to get mine here.
i got some good pictures of the event in victoria. everyone there is so GOOD!
i think it was the mestres son, lalo. he's is crazy. he did about 20 jumps on one hand while doing scissor kicks in the air. i cant even stand on both hands, let alone one.... and jump.... 20 times.... while doing scissor kicks!

the roda

tomorrow is the day of the roda. i am hoping tomorow i can play! we have been learning alot of songs like paranau, moleque, and others that i still cant pronounce, let alone spell...

professional digital camera

hi everyone.
i'm looking to buy a professional digital camera...
i want one with at least 8.0 megapixels.
if anyone is selling one or knows of a place to get them let me know.
i want either a sony, minolta, canon, olimpus, panasonic or nikon

Capoeira performance at ilac - toronto

i went to watch our groups capoeira performace at ILAC on yonge street in toronto. it was awsome!!
its just too bad we didnt take any pictures.... i forgot my camera (stupid me!!)
anyways... i think everyone really liked it. a bunch of people came to the ones that did the show to take pictures and ask questions and everything like that... (too bad I didnt do anything... i suck... at least for now! )

Capoeira performance

i think one of our teachers will be doing a capoeira performance at ILAC on the 15th of november in toronto. i think anyone can go to watch. apparantly it a brazilian day that they will be having. i will ask if i can go and if i can take some pictures, i will post them up for you all to see. i'm really looking forward to this one!!

Capoeira - Day 2

so i had my second capoeira class.
i was a bit sore after that first one, but today it's not SO bad. i mean, its still bad (sore), but i can get used to it...
i think i'm going to check the toronto school soon. i've been training in mississauga. my teachers name is monitor careca and sometimes we have another teacher, monitor paraiba. i think they are both from the school axe capoeira. it seems like our school is realy big internationaly.
i want to try to start to learn some capoeira song and to learn how to play the instruments... i wounder how long it would take to get realy good at those....
i'm also going to see if my teachers let me take some pictures so i can post up here...
